Optimism, Pessimism.. and what lies in-between ..
First of all , I cant believe that I picked such a topic to blog about!! But oh well .. thats whats on my mind right now...
Im going to kick it off with "the" question.. Is the glass half empty of half full?? So far in every personality development session that I have ever attended, I can only remember being told that its better to think the glas is half full.. And I accepted it... half full if was!! But one day I went for a post EAMCET counselling session at Satya Sai Nigamagamam... I remember attending it reluctantly.. and even on entering the place, seeing thousands of students waiting for counselling only made me feel worse..
Krutika, Sruthi and I... walked in... found seats in the last row and sat down.. knowing dat none of us were planning to listen to anything dat was being said.. I looked around wondering what to do as the speakers droned on.. and suddenly my eyes fell on the glossy sheets of the pamphlet advertising about some college.. and i decided to look at the pictures in that leaflet.. and under one of the pictures i saw one line that has been on my mind since that second.. "Optimists say that the glass is half full, Pessimists say that the glass is half empty, but an engineer says that the glass is twice as big as it needs to be!!!
Thats when it hit me... its not just about how you look at it.. It doesnt really matter!!! It all about what you are going to do about it..
For all those of you who always thought that there are two ways of looking at things... welcome to the third way!!! The most useful of them all !!!
I just thought that this was a whole wonderful way of looking at things and couldnt resist sharing it with all of you.. do let me know what u think about it !!

Roadside Romeos!!!
This entry is dedicated to all those guys out there on the roads.. in fluorescent orange and green polo neck-skin tight-t-shirts...whose eyes pop out of their heads and behave like magnets attracted towards the female species... I realised I just have to write a whole entry in honour of those idiots who can make a simple walk on the road seem like a daunting yet hilarious experience at the same time.. As for those guys who do it outside college... Get a life... Im going to narrate a couple of things that I've seen them do.. which had me in splits of laughter...just had to share!!!
My friend Amrita and I , were walking back from guitar class (one of those rare days when i did not just jump into an auto)... Both of our guitars have black cases... and we slung them on and were walking down the road when two guys on a scooter passed us , and one of the idiots screamed "OHO!!! Sania Mirza!!!".The man did not know the difference between a guitar and a tennis racquet...Me n Amri laughed out so loud that we must have looked like a pair of idiots.
On another fateful day... I was walking to Narayana Junior College.. And a few students of Villa Marie were waiting at the bus stop ahead... A boy.. who must have been barely 15 years old.. went by them on a bicycle.. singing out loudly and totally out of tune "Mere Sapno Ki Rani Kab Aayegi Tu..." One of those girls he was singing for said "Chal Hat!!"... and the poor chap was so shocked that he lost balance and fell.. then he hurriedly got up... picked up his cycle.. and ran the rest of the way...
Finally and probably the most common roadside act... We were passing by a couple of people at a chai stall.. and almost like a reflex action.. three peoples hands moved to their ears... and they started screaming.. "Hallo!!! Salim Bhai!!!" or "Namaste Mama..." into mobile phones which had not even been ringing audibly... Isnt it a real co incedence that all the mobile phones in silent mode tend to ring at the precise moment when some one they want to impress passes by them... I could only remember one person today when this happened.. Salim Pheku from "The Angrez"... Those who havent seen that movie ( specially Hyderabadis).. simply have to!!!
So.. here's to all those idiots with nothing better to do.. from another who acutally was jobless enough to write about them!!!
